Between
the Garonne to the south and the Dordogne to the north, the Entre-deux-Mers
is perhaps the most picturesque and most extensive region of Bordeaux's
vineyards. The Entre-deux-Mers, naturally delimeated by the two majestic
rivers moving to the ebb and flow of the tides, is criss-crossed with brooks
and rivulets. The beneficial influence of the oceanic climate and the predominantly
clay and limestone soils are ideally suited for vine-growing. |

| A total of 12 cantons lend their nobility to the vast terroir of Entre-deux-Mers. Branne, Cadillac, Carbon-Blanc and Cenon, Créon, La Réole and Saint-Macaire, Monségur, Pellegrue, Pujols sur Dordogne, Sauveterre de Guyenne and Targon are all thriving terroirs where man and nature have together succeeded in crafting over the centuries this great white wine, as attractive as it is appealing. |
